How do I properly impregnate HAIX shoes?
Although HAIX shoes are primed, we recommend impregnating HAIX shoes on a regular basis to increase the overall lifespan of the shoes. First clean the shoes with a brush or remove stubborn dirt with a light, lukewarm soapy solution before re-impregnating the shoes. Apply the spray generously to the leather at a distance of approx. 30 cm so that the shoe soaks up the impregnating agent so that the care substances can penetrate the leather. Let the spray work for about 15 minutes before you start the next treatment; this can be repeated up to 3 times. Additional smooth leather care can then be applied.
How often do I have to waterproof my shoes?
With regular use, it is sufficient to re-treat the shoes every four to eight weeks. You should also re-impregnate them when the shoes are really wet.
How long do I have to wait after impregnation?
You should allow your shoes to rest for approx. 24 hours after impregnation so that the care substances can take effect.
What does impregnation do for me?
The impregnation works like a protective layer through which neither moisture nor dirt can penetrate the shoe. In addition, the HAIX impregnation agent cares for the leather of your shoes.
Why do I have to impregnate shoes with GORE-TEX?
The GORE-TEX membrane is located under the upper material and prevents moisture from penetrating the inside of the shoe. With the impregnation spray you also make the upper material waterproof and dirt-repellent.
